PocketPAD Power over Ethernet is a low-cost Serial to Ethernet device server with PoE support and can be used as stand-alone or mounted on a DIN rail.
PocketPAD Power over Ethernet features the ability for the device server to be powered over the Ethernet cable, thus avoiding the necessity for a separate power supply infrastructure to the device. This functionality is compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard and can produce significant cost savings and practical benefits in the appropriate implementation.
PocketPAD is a device that interconnects serial and Ethernet systems. The networked host could have a server application polling for information from the serial unit, or a controller with an Ethernet port. PocketPAD can be configured to be a server (Passive/Slave mode) or a host (Active/Master mode).
A maximum of 5 TCP and 5 UDP network applications can be configured on the PocketPAD. Each TCP application can handle 5 socket connections (Total of 25 concurrent TCP socket connections at any one time).
